What I Love About Edmond

Edmond has been my home since 1988. I grew up in a small town, Durant, OK, and when I got to Edmond I loved it because it still seemed "small town" but I had access to the "big city".  As of 2015 the Oklahoma Census had Edmond's population at approx. 90,000.  In 2011 Edmond was #1 on CNBC's "10 Perfect Suburbs" list.  Edmond was listed as one of the "Top 100 Places to Live in 2007" by Relocate America.  Edmond's Liberty Fest was selected as one of the top 10 places to be in America on July 4th by CNN and USA Today.

Edmond's public school district is now the third largest district in the state with approx. 24,400 students and counting as of 2017.  Edmond's schools have been honored with many awards and offer high standards in their academics, athletics, and fine arts.  Both of my children have wonderful memories of being in the Edmond public school system.  Fun fact:  The first public schoolhouse in Oklahoma Territory, completed in Aug. 1889 is in Edmond.  It still stands as a historical monument on 2nd street between Boulevard and Broadway and is open to the public.

Other benefits I appreciate about Edmond range from our local law enforcement being committed to making our community one of the safest cities of our size in the country, parks and recreation, the arts, sports, community events, golf courses, Lake Arcadia, restaurants, shopping, and more!
